Story behind the contest

It all started when Panainos, freshly back from Greece (for real), mentioned a very strange column he encountered during his vacation at Hellas. He said there was a face planted in the column. We all thought it's the same old story about how they recycled building material, such as Greek god's supporting Christian temple a la Atlas. When he finally showed us the picture, we found it's something completely different. The face was ripped from maybe a bronze statue and deliberately planted in a stone column. Totally creepy.

Panainos said it could be meant to be some kind of charm against evil. Possible. But still we were in shock at the face. That's when Epistate suggested this contest. Panainos agreed to let us use the picture to inspire the auhtors among us.
