Pindarian
Ode for Panathenaian Glory Come,
O Muses, let us Sing! Unto that noblest city, Athenai, bring Your joyful
verse and admiration As the athletes join in the celebration Of Great
Athena's Natal Day. Dear
ones, if you seek great feats, The glory of victory, the agony of defeat It
is the hour that shines upon us now. First towards the gods we must bow And
humbly seek their approbation We offer incense and a libation. Then
off we march, we jump, we ride To where the contestants shall arrive. The
wussie ones can run, but they can not hide! The warriors of Athenai will come
and find Their barbarian challengers and whip their hides... Mighty
Myrrhine came first in the wrestling Although we all gave her a hearty testing.
The Noble Pan has always provided The coolest games and contests abided
By one and all in acclaimation - His work always holds a certain fascination!
Great Tobi
gives the Greeks a run for their money He'll do it with style and still be
funny! On the water, the land and in the air Swifter than Apollo his gifs
shall appear But of the greater gods he has no fear... (Notice he still
worships Vulcan, my dear) TecBear
shall come in from the forest Leave the trowels and trenches and join the
chorus Of Jo and Epi, Alex and M Will Barb and Miss Kitty kick our arses
again?? Will Thea or Ariminus be victorious? These Games will certainly
be most Glorious! JoFlavius |
