Your mission, should you choose to accept it, is to race around the island of Salamis. The race will be divided into two sections over five days:
Race 1: Peiraeus harbor to Megara.
Race 2: Megara back to Peiraeus harbor, via Eleusis.
Teams have 36 hours within which to create a written "log entry" describing their race journey each day.
General Rules
- A maximum of 4 people, including the captain, is allowed in a team.
- All boats must be sailing boats (yachts).
- Each race will have certain tasks and obstacles set, and a set number of items that will be distributed to each crew. Clever use of these items will cause you to save time (points):
- Some golden straps
- One sewing kit
- One spear
- One bow and quiver of arrows
- A lump of lead
- One axe
- One pot of honey
- One piece of pottery from Panainos's workshop, located at Athenai N9 E10. You must call this item by its Greek name. As a bonus incentive, if you finish the boat race the judges will purchase a copy of this pot for your collectibles list!
- Loaf of bread
- One herb of choice
- Two obols
- One large club, labelled "Property of Herakles"
- One lion skin, labelled "Property of Herakles"
- Things you shouldn't write about:
- Harming other ships
- Fantasy inspired magic (e.g., spells, potions, magic shields/swords/helmets/sandals). You may refer to historical Ancient Greek magic/superstition etc. as long as it fits in with race.
- Deities influencing proceedings to make you win or to sabotage the other teams.
Entries
To enter the race, post in the boat race thread indicating the following:
- The name of your boat
- The name of each member of the crew
- The name of the team captain
